Primary Source's 2009 Annual Fund Reaches New Heights

Despite a difficult economic climate, Primary Source raised an unprecedented amount of unrestricted funds during the past year. This record-breaking achievement makes 2009 the Primary Source Fund's most successful year to date.

Over the past twelve months, Primary Source raised over $260,000 in gifts from individuals and corporations and received over $35,000 worth of in-kind goods and services. In total, the 2009 Primary Source Fund brought in approximately $295,000 to support important global education initiatives.

In 2008, the Primary Source Fund raised approximately $110,000 in support of the organization's mission to educate teachers and students about diverse world histories and cultures. The organization was able to more than double its contributions in large part because of the tremendous support it received during its 20th anniversary Gala for Global Education.

Looking ahead, Primary Source has identified several strategic goals that will help to expand the organization's growth and impact, including:

  • Building school capacity to provide a 21st century, globally-oriented education for all students
  • Introducing schools to innovative technologies that will internationalize the classroom experience
  • Providing online learning opportunities for teachers and students nationwide

We deeply appreciate everyone who made a gift, big or small, in support of Primary Source this year. Thank you for helping Primary Source lead the K-12 community in preparing the next generation to be more knowledgeable, culturally-competent, and better-prepared 21st century global citizens!
