Ancient and Modern China

This educational travel program will include the cities of Shanghai, Beijing, and Xi'an. Educators will also travel to the traditional village of Huangcun, the hometown of the Peabody Essex Museum's Yin Yu Tang House. In addition to visiting sites from China's dynastic history and observing cultural continuity, participants will experience modern China and learn about environmental issues and other challenges the country faces today. The study tour will include visits to rural and urban schools and time to interact with Chinese educators.

This tour is open to K-12 educators who have completed one of Primary Source's five-day seminar series, week-long summer institutes, or 2-credit online courses on China.

*Tour fee includes international travel, travel within China, site visits, accommodations and most meals. Visa fees, travel insurance, and the cost of obtaining a passport plus some meals, personal purchases and optional activities are not included.
