Children's Life in China
Primary Source and the Boston Children's Museum are pleased to present "Children's Life in China," a workshop for K-7 educators about contemporary China.
Workshop Description China is constantly in the news, and yet many of our students know little about Chinese people and their daily lives. In this seminar, educators will learn about contemporary Chinese life and culture. Vanessa Fong, professor of education at Harvard University, will discuss schooling in China today. In addition, participants will look at the lives of four children in Hangzhou, Boston's sister city, by viewing parts of a new DVD. Classroom uses and implications will be discussed, and teachers will be introduced to several new hands-on activities developed to supplement this video resource.
