Discovering Boston's Civil Rights Story
On Wednesday, April 2, Primary Source will host the release of our new DVD and oral history curriculum, Discovering Boston's Civil Rights Story. The film and teaching materials were developed in conjunction with the planning of the 2006 Power and Protest conference on the Civil Rights movement in Boston. Featuring students from Boston, Concord-Carlisle, and Wellesley who conducted interviews with former participants in the movement, the film explores this little-studied period in local history and the power of oral history projects as a teaching tool. Following the screening, participating teachers and students will be on hand for questions. Copies of the DVD and curriculum will be available to attendees. Wednesday, April 2, 4:30-6:00 p.m. at Primary Source in Watertown Free and open to the public Register online or email Julie Newport |
