Friday, October 17, 2014
Join us as we celebrate 25 years of inspiring educators to be change agents for global education.
No child can afford to be without a global education. That's why for 25 years, we've been working with educators to ensure that global awareness becomes an integral part of every classroom experience.
|In honor of our 25th anniversary, we are planning a celebration at the beautiful Royal Sonesta, including:
Ezra F. Vogel

And a very special performance by Silk Road Ensemble musicians
Silkroad was established by cellist Yo-Yo Ma in 1998 to explore the role of the arts in fostering cross-cultural understanding, deepening learning, and promoting innovation and collaboration. Creating unexpected connections, collaborations, and communities, Silkroad works at the edge where education, business, and the arts come together to transform the world. Since 2000, Silkroad has represented a global array of cultures and redefined classical music for 21st-century audiences. The group has performed throughout Asia, Europe, and North America, and has recorded five albums, including the most recent CD, A Playlist Without Borders, and Live From Tanglewood DVD.
Our 25th Anniversary Celebration features the following Silk Road Ensemble musicians:
Sandeep Das is considered one of the world's leading tabla players. He has composed for and performed internationally with Silk Road since its inception in 2000. Sandeep's performances have received several Grammy Award nominations, and he was named Most Valuable Young Musician by the President of India in 2004. He founded HUM, an ensemble whose goal is to promote global understanding through musical performance and education. For more about Sandeep, visit his website.
