Book Review: Kindergarten Day USA and China by Trish Marx and Ellen B. Senisi

Kindergarten Day USA and China is a wonderful book for young children and early readers. Called a "Flip-Me-Over Book," one side tells the story of a kindergarten class in Schenectady, New York, while the other side tells the story of a kindergarten class in Beijing, China.
Each class is followed from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and is shown participating in class activities, eating lunch, and celebrating a classmate's birthday. A clock at the bottom of each page shows the time in both New York and China. Each page of the Chinese portion of the book teaches a Chinese word such as lǎo shī, teacher, and wán, play.
Highly recommended for pre-school through second grade. This is a great book to introduce school life in China and the United States and show similarities between children in both countries.
Kindergarten Day USA and China is published by Charlesbridge and is part of the Global Fund for Children collection.
