New Center for Global Curriculum Online
Primary Source is pleased to announce the launch of Primary Source World, a new online center designed to help educators globalize curricula and enhance teaching. Primary Source World features free, teacher-created, classroom-ready activities designed around key primary sources - including written documents, artifacts, audio clips, visual evidence and much more. Currently, Primary Source World includes Native Americans: Interactions at the Time of Settlement, Women's Roles in China: Changes Over Time, and Women's Voices in the Modern Muslim World. New resource clusters, including Latin America and the Cold War are being developed. Some of the clusters introduce hard-to-find primary sources, and others are built around documents that Primary Source created. For example, Women's Roles in China features a biographical interview with a Chinese student. Native Americans guides students through an examination of the "Eliot Indian Bible," likely the first bible printed in America and certainly the first to be translated into Algonquian. Each cluster contains key questions, learning objectives, and a background essay written by a scholar to help educators understand new topics and easily integrate the activities into existing curricula. With a wealth of easy-to-use classroom ideas, teachers nationwide can now bring an international perspective to any grade level or subject area.
