New Online Curriculum Site from Primary Source

Primary Source is rapidly expanding its online resources for educators. In addition to an online course on ancient China planned for the 2009-2010 school year, the organization is building a web-based curriculum site, Primary Source World.

On Primary Source World, K-12 teachers will find extensive activities featuring primary sources through a new, user-friendly interface and explore teaching ideas related to Asia, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and the United States for all grade levels. Preliminary plans include resources on Native American and settler interactions, new perspectives on the Cold War in Latin America, and the geography of the Middle East. These activities and others will be chosen to fill gaps in resources available to educators and address key historical themes. Primary Source World is designed in a flexible format to allow teachers to select materials that will work best in their classrooms.

In addition to traditional primary sources, the site will include elements such as audio and video podcasts from scholars that take full advantage of the online medium.
