Executive Director Kathy Ennis Introduces Greg Mortenson
On Tuesday, February 26, Belmont High School welcomed an overflow crowd to the culminating event of the community-wide reading program, One Book, One Belmont. This year's program focused on Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin's book, Three Cups of Tea: One Man's Mission to Promote Peace...One School at a Time. Primary Source Executive Director Kathleen Ennis introduced co-author Greg Mortenson to the more than 1000 guests at the February 26 event.

Making Freedom: Maine's African American History Primary Source Maine's first program of 2008, "Making Freedom: Maine's African American History," concluded on February 11 at Portland High School. Plans for offering a program on African American history for educators in the Pine Tree State began after several Maine teachers and Primary Source Maine staff member Amy Stevens took part in a week-long study tour of African American history in New England and New York, offered by Primary Source in April 2007. |

Teachers Praise New Latin America Course On Thursday, January 24th, Primary Source began a new chapter in its mission to prepare educators to teach students about the world. In response to overwhelming requests from educators and districts to present a fuller picture of Latin America - both to the increasing Latino student population in the region and to their classmates - Thursday's seminar was the first of a 5-day course on Latin America. This course brings together over forty K-12 teachers and curriculum coordinators from across eastern Massachusetts. |
