Primary Source is pleased to announce a new partnership with the China-United States Exchange Foundation, a Hong Kong based non-profit organization dedicated to improving the relationship between China and the United States.

With support from the China-United States Exchange Foundation, Primary Source recently brought a group of educators on a study tour to China, where they had the opportunity to connect with Chinese teachers. Throughout their trip, the U.S. group visited schools, stayed with Chinese families, and toured cultural and historic sites. (For an inside look at the study tour, visit the group's blog.) Teachers took part in educator-to-educator symposia with groups of Chinese colleagues, during which they exchanged ideas about educational practice. More than two hundred Chinese teachers participated in the symposia. The China-United States Exchange Foundation is also partnering with Primary Source to support a 2008-2009 seminar series on China.

Primary Source and the China-United States Exchange Foundation share a commitment to strengthening ties between Chinese and U.S. citizens. "Building bridges towards greater understanding between our two countries is important work," notes Primary Source's Executive Director Kathy Ennis, "and Primary Source is particularly well-positioned to accomplish this goal through the education of teachers and students."
