Primary Source Community Connections: One Book, One BelmontExecutive Director Kathy Ennis Introduces Greg Mortenson On Tuesday, February 26, Belmont High School welcomed an overflow crowd to the culminating event of the community-wide reading program, One Book, One Belmont. This year's program focused on Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin's book, Three Cups of Tea: One Man's Mission to Promote Peace...One School at a Time. Primary Source Executive Director Kathleen Ennis introduced co-author Greg Mortenson to the more than 1000 guests at the February 26 event. Ms. Ennis noted the connections between Primary Source's work to promote K-12 global education to Greg Mortenson's own goal of building schools in Afghanistan and Pakistan. "It is education, whether in a school that Greg has built in Afghanistan or Pakistan, or in U.S. classrooms of the 21st century, that will help build bridges among people all over the world," she said. Ms. Ennis also mentioned that Primary Source is beginning to explore ways to support global community service in schools across New England. In the spring of 2007, Primary Source hosted a widely attended public event with Greg Mortenson as well as a book discussion group with the author for educators.
