Primary Source Recognized for Promoting Chinese Culture

The Chinese Culture Connection (CCC), a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to promoting intercultural harmony between American and Chinese cultures, honored Primary Source's nineteen years of China education in an awards ceremony on April 4, 2008. In attendance were Primary Source Executive Director Kathleen Ennis, Associate Program Director Peter Gilmartin, and former Associate Program Director Wanli Hu.

Based in Malden, Massachusetts, the CCC offers educational programs for adults and youth designed to expand awareness of Chinese culture.

Primary Source received a 2008 Chinese Culture Connection Award "in appreciation of outstanding accomplishments and distinguished contributions to the promotion of intercultural awareness in the United States and throughout the world." Since 1995, Primary Source's programs on China for K-12 educators have reached more than 2000 teachers and 300,000 students.

Other CCC honorees included artist and professor Qianshen Bai, kung fu practitioner Mai Du, and musician Shin Yi Yang. For more information about the Chinese Culture Connection, visit their website.
