Lesson # 4   Demonstrating the Changing Family in Chinese History

 

Estimated Teaching Time = Five 45 minute periods

 

Objectives

 

¤         Students will work cooperatively as a large group composing, producing, and presenting a multi-scene play in which they demonstrate their acquired knowledge and empathy for the traditional and revolutionary roles within the Chinese family.

ALTERNATE ASSESSMENT

 

For students who fear public performance, or when class sizes or school resources prevent an actual stage-performed play these alternative assessments could be utilized instead:  a collection of short stories bound into a book or a series of letters exchanged among family members.
