Study Tour Blends Service and Travel

In April 2010, 11 educators traveled with Primary Source to the Dominican Republic. The group, which included educators from a variety of grade levels and subject areas, visited both urban and rural parts of the island.

During their week abroad, educators met local teachers and students, learned about the history and culture of the Dominican Republic, and participated in service-learning projects in an effort to learn how they might replicate the experience for their own students. Each participating teacher also had an opportunity to engage in cultural exchange during a homestay with families in San Cristobal. See below for a selection of photos from the trip and visit http://drtour2010.blogspot.com for a full account.
