2015 Summer Institutes

Primary Source courses feature scholarly presentations incorporating a variety of media, interactive teacher-led workshops modeling classroom and curriculum activities, and occasional field trips to museums and cultural sites. PDPs are included with most programs and graduate credit is available for our 3-day seminar series, summer institutes, and online courses. Unless otherwise noted, all courses take place at Primary Source in Watertown, Massachusetts.

Face-to-Face Courses

Teaching for Global Understanding in the 21st Century

Open to all K-12 educators
Course dates: July 13 - 17, 2015

Online orientation dates: Approximately 6 hours, completed between June 20th and July 13th
Time: 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Location: Regis College (Weston, Massachusetts)
PDPs/Credits: 67.5 PDPs; 3 graduate credits
Fee: Partnership educators—no cost other than fee for 3 graduate credits; Non-partnership educators—$600 plus fee for 3 graduate credits

Especially for educators of grades 6-12
Course dates: July 8 - August 4

PDPs/Credits: 22.5 PDPs; 1 graduate credit
Fee: Partnership educators - no cost other than fee for 1 graduate credit; Non-partnership educators - $225 plus fee for 1 graduate credit.

This course has been approved by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to provide 15 PDPs addressing the needs of English language learners (required as of 2016).
