We are hiring a Program Associate

The Position

Primary Source seeks a Program Associate to be an integral part of our collaborative team of passionate and committed staff. The Program Associate will work with Program Directors and other staff to support and implement a range of professional development programs for educators both face-to-face and online. This position offers the opportunity to work in a small, dynamic educational organization with possibilities of becoming involved in a variety of interesting projects beyond core responsibilities outlined below. You will gain invaluable experience working with top-notch K-12 teachers and learn how a nonprofit organization inspires and engages its community.


Support for school year and summer courses for teachers

  • Identifies resources, individuals, and organizations to support program work; collaborates with program staff to ensure high-quality face-to-face and online programming. Responds to inquiries regarding programs via e-mail, mail, and phone
  • Manages all components of school year and online programs: including, Moodle course website, scholar communication, graduate credit process, and program evaluation
  • Handles logistics for all programs, events and webinar series
  • Coordinates the hiring and supervising of a summer intern

Partnership Program

  • Manages all components of our partnership program with K-12 schools, including registration, outreach, and renewals
  • Plans and implements the annual Partnership meeting
  • Coordinates with the finance department to process annual invoices, renewal checks, and other payments related to partnership

Qualifications and Skills

  • Understanding of and commitment to the mission of Primary Source
  • Strong and versatile writing skills
  • Public speaking and presentation skills
  • Technological competence, including strong background in Microsoft Office applications; facility with audio-visual/presentation technology; experience with databases, including Raiser’s Edge; experience with Google Apps; SurveyMonkey; GoToWebinar; experience with online learning desirable (Moodle and TalentLMS)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to teamwork
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Capacity for multi-tasking
  • B.A. required
