We are currently looking for a Program Director to join our team.

Position Description

Primary Source seeks a Program Director to create programming and curriculum across our broad spectrum of global and cultural content.  In this role you will plan and implement professional development both online and face-to-face, deliver custom workshops, consulting services, and create curriculum and resource guides. This position requires experience in the field of K-12 education, content expertise in social studies and/or humanities, experience with educational technologies, and a repertoire of sound pedagogical practices.  The Program Director will work closely with the Senior Program Director, program staff, K-12 teachers, university professors, and other partners.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate graduate-level online courses and modules for teachers.
  • Lead face-to-face courses and workshops for teachers in areas of content and pedagogical expertise.
  • Create curriculum materials for a range of grade levels.
  • Work with program staff to create new program initiatives.
  • Manage online learning initiatives including online courses, online curriculum, and online modules.
  • Write grants and support fundraising initiatives.
  • Represent Primary Source at relevant conferences.
  • Collaborate with independent scholars, university professors, and exemplary teachers.
  • Work with program team to develop and implement a new program evaluation system.
  • Participate in partner outreach, communications, and meetings.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Commitment to the mission of Primary Source.
  • Experience in the K-12 education field (teaching experience strongly preferred).
  • Familiarity and comfort with Ed tech tools.
  • Demonstrated expertise in creating curricular materials.
  • Excellent public speaking, presentation, and writing skills.
  • A passion for and knowledge of one or more of the following content areas: global studies, world history, humanities, and/or     multicultural studies.
  • The ability to work with both university academics and school personnel.
  • Good problem-solving skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to teamwork.
  • A deep respect for the work of teachers.
  • Master’s degree or higher in related field.
