What is a typical day like for you?
As the Program Coordinator at Primary Source, I have the opportunity to work in several different areas of the organization. A typical day may include corresponding with our partner districts and helping to manage online courses. I also interact and meet with teachers in our face-to-face programs, while managing logistics behind the scenes.
Tell us about your background and what brought you to Primary Source.
I knew that I wanted to work in education ever since studying abroad in Australia, where I saw first-hand how different education systems can operate worldwide. After moving to Boston in 2010, I had the opportunity to work with special education leaders across the United States, and I loved seeing how cross-collaboration could positively impact change within schools. During my time at Clark University, I conducted research on the role of agency within the classroom, as well as on refugee integration in the Worcester (MA) Public Schools. My belief that schools and teachers are an invaluable part of helping students experience global learning led me to Primary Source. I hold a degree in International Development and Social Change at Clark University (M.A), as well as a degree in Sociology and English at Texas Tech University (B.A.).
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I love travelling and experiencing different food and languages. I’m always up to salsa dance as well!
Where in the world would you most like to visit?
Mongolia- I read a book about the country a few years ago and have wanted to visit ever since.
