Have you ever wondered how to engage students' curiosity about the world through innovative ways of teaching geography? This program takes a new look at geography instruction through the use of technology and hands-on activities that promote deep learning and conceptual understanding. We will consider topics such as using web 2.0 mapping tools to develop geo-literacy skills; integrating visual and textual literacies through maps, charts, literature, and nonfiction texts; and connecting geographic themes to current events and students' daily lives.
