There is a general consensus that young people lack the necessary knowledge and skills for civic life and calls to strengthen civics education abound. In this one-day session we will convene educators to consider approaches to strengthen civic learning, explore benchmarks for civic knowledge, develop instructional activities that empower young people for democratic participation, and examine examples of civic education in action across different grades with a focus on local and global civic engagement.

Open to all K-12 educators.
