HistoryThon is a walkathon, on your own schedule, to support education about African American history, in concert with our work to prepare educators in developing expertise in K-12 anti-racist education. Join us in paving the way to understanding

  • Choose when and where your journey takes you!

    • Explore walks, trails, and sites of historical importance to the African American experience selected from a list provided at registration.

    • Participate anytime between October 10-November 22, 2020

  • Ask your community to support you!

    • We are raising funds* to answer urgent calls for classroom-ready resources about African American history. To meet these calls, we need to digitally publish our Making Freedom: African Americans in U.S. History source book series. It’s an invaluable treasure trove of resources for teachers that explores the role and agency of African Americans in shaping our nation from 1600 through today.

  • Pave the way to understanding!

    • Put on your walking shoes, grab a friend, and get outside to learn more about local African American history.
