HistoryThon is a walkathon, on your own schedule, to learn about places important to African American history, in concert with preparing educators to develop expertise in K-12 anti-racist education. You can help pave the way to understanding!

  • You can join us!
    • View Executive Director Jen Nigro introduce HistoryThon (coming soon)
    • Participate anytime between Saturday, October 2 - Sunday, November 14, 2021
    • Explore walks, trails, and sites of historical importance to the African American experience with the African American Trail Project Map and other information provided at registration
  • You can make a difference!
    • Expand much-needed awareness about African American history
    • Raise funds* to underwrite the Making Freedom Digital Curriculum and meet the need for classroom-ready lessons about African American history.

  • Together, let's pave the way to understanding!
    • Put on your walking shoes, grab a friend, and get outside to learn more about your local African American history
    • Register as an individual or build a team: Inviting friends, family, and/or colleagues to join the HistoryThon is a great way to participate! There will be opportunities to win prizes!

* Fundraising is not required to join HistoryThon but is very much appreciated!
