Relationship Building with CUSEF

30 July 2014

Developing relationships with funders who share our mission has always been integral to Primary Source's organizational growth. Thanks to a fortuitous introduction in 2008, Kathy Ennis, Executive Director at the time, connected with the China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF) which has been providing funding for our China programs ever since. With a mission to promote understanding and strengthen relationships between the US and China, CUSEF fosters open dialogue between thought leaders of both countries. "[Chairman] Tung Chee Hwa has always had an appreciation for our efforts and a respect for our work," says Kathy. "The Foundation trusts us to bring a broad, diverse and unbiased perspective of China's history to our programming."

CUSEF initiatives promote cultural, academic and educational exchanges, and support research initiatives directed at facilitating deeper mutual understanding and expanding opportunities for cooperation between the peoples of China and the United States in such areas as economics, the environment, and education. "We appreciate CUSEF's vision of using ongoing, open dialogue as a vehicle for strengthening ties between our two countries," says Kathy. "We share the same global mission and we value its importance."

Thanks to the support of CUSEF, a group of 22 administrators traveled to China this month as part of a special Education Delegation to consider the similarities and differences between the Chinese and US educational systems. Read about their exciting trip!
