Primary Source has named Jennifer Boyle as their new Executive Director. She succeeds Julia de la Torre who has been Executive Director since 2010. "Primary Source has spread its influence under the superb leadership of Kathy Ennis and Julia de la Torre. Now, the Board enthusiastically welcomes Jen Boyle as our new Executive Director,” says Rosemary Pisano, Primary Source Board President. "Jen's experience in both profit and nonprofit worlds, joined with her passion for our mission and her own hands-on international experience, equip her to be a dynamic and informed leader at Primary Source. We are more than pleased to announce this appointment."

Jen brings a diverse background to Primary Source, having spent her career in both the private sector and in domestic and global education. Jen began in advertising, sales, and management in both the advertising and television industries. Working from the ground up, Jen grew her expertise at Hill Holiday and WLVI TV, both in Boston. During this time, Jen took a year off to work as a teacher at Mother Caroline Academy in Dorchester. Her teaching experience ignited her passion for education and after a successful career in sales and management, she took a risk and dove headfirst into education and nonprofit management.

As a transition from the private to public sphere, Jen spent a year as a volunteer living in Mombasa, Kenya. Jen's time in Kenya reinforced her commitment to education and gave her a profound appreciation for the global world in which we live. Jen has since worked on five continents supporting various education initiatives. Jen was the Executive Director of The Maranyundo Initiative, where she helped build and launch the Maranyundo School for girls in Nyamata, Rwanda. She continued her work in international education by supporting school growth and development in South Africa, Indonesia, Israel, Mexico, India, and Chile. Domestically, Jen was formerly the Managing Director of Strategic Growth and Development of Excel Academy Charter Schools.

Jen holds an undergraduate degree from the University of New Hampshire and a Master in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. "I am thrilled and humbled by the opportunity to serve as Primary Source's Executive Director and to lead the organization in a manner that will build upon its rich legacy of excellence, so that more teachers and students can reap the rewards of global learning in their classrooms," says Jen.
