What Teachers Need to Know: A Podcast with Global Insights for K-12 Contexts

7 December 2017

Primary Source is excited to announce our first podcast! In every compact episode, What Teachers Need to Know: The Middle East offers vital insight for understanding the modern Middle East and North Africa, so that teachers can facilitate deep learning about the region with their students. The first season explores a range of cultural and political issues pertaining to the region, with episodes including “Underneath the Veil” and “Syria, Explained.” Each episode features an expert on Middle Eastern and North African cultures, societies, and current events, and is produced with support from Qatar Foundation International.

“Podcasting has been such a great experience. I get to sit down with experts in the field *and* share their expertise with a large audience of listeners,” says Program Director Joshua Cracraft. “It’s inspiring to think about how many educators could benefit from PD in this new format, especially those who might not have the opportunity to enroll in our courses.”
