To the Primary Source community,

In light of the rapid development of the COVID-19 outbreak and the overwhelming consensus among public health experts, we are taking the appropriate steps to modify our remaining in-person spring programming. When possible we are transitioning our programming to an on-line format or postponing until fall 2020.

If you are currently enrolled in one of our remaining courses, your course leader will be in touch with more information:

  • March 24 - South Shore Book Group - will transition to an online format

  • March 26 - Greater Boston Book Group - will transition to an online format

  • April 2 - Migrations in World History and Today- postponed to Fall 2020

  • April 2 & May 14: Democracy Lab Spring PD - April 2nd date is postponed, more information will be sent to registrants in a separate communication

  • April 7- Civic Learning and the Project of Democracy- will transition to an online format
  • Online courses will continue to run as scheduled

  • Programs for individual districts or grant-funded projects will be decided with our partners on a case-by-case basis

In addition, we have transitioned our March 26th spring benefit to an online program featuring as keynote speaker Professor Tim McCarthy of Harvard University, who will be speaking about Courageous Citizenship. You can register here.

We appreciate the challenges educators face in this unpredictable time and while we aren’t convening our regular in-person professional development programming, we continue to offer our robust online programming. In light of the rapidly changing events, we may need to make further amendments to our plans and will update participants as needed. We will still be available to answer questions and connect teachers with resources and on-going learning opportunities.

Sincerely,
The Primary Source team
